Fluorescent lighting may make you think of a hospital or other place of business, but they can offer great illumination in the home as well. Just one of the many benefits of using fluorescent lighting is the better view you get of anything. If you are considering fluorescent light fixtures for your bathroom, there are many available for overhead installation, as well as those for vanities. By using fluorescent grow lights in your bathroom, applying makeup that won’t look different outdoors becomes much easier. Similarly, using fluorescent lights in the kitchen (whether as overhead fluorescent light or undercabinet lighting) can help you see your food items better as you work.

Other options for fluorescent lighting include fluorescent lamps. These can work wonders for reading light, and a 6 volt UV fluorescent lamp can also be of benefit. By using a fluorescent lamp, you will be using compact fluorescent light bulbs instead of the traditional large bulbs. One other benefit of using fluorescent lighting fixtures is that it cuts down on energy usage for the amount of light given. This can be great whether you are using four or eight-foot fluorescent lighting for large rooms, or if you are using smaller fluorescent lighting parts.

One of the great benefits of using a fluorescent light fixture in your home is the increased life of the bulb. Fluorescent lighting typically costs more when you buy the original fixture, and the fluorescent light bulbs are much more expensive than regular bulbs, but they last much longer. The fluorescent light bulb simply has longer lasting usage than traditional bulbs, so you will not ultimately spend any more over time. Plus, your fluorescent light will allow you to see better, and if you use fluorescent lighting in replacement of most or all of your traditional lights, you could save a ton on your energy bill.

One of the most common areas in the home to use fluorescent lights is either a workshop or a garage. If you will be placing the lights in an area such as this, you will likely want to consider the larger bulbs, often with the drop-lighting technique. There are also many large fluorescent light fixtures that can be mounted directly to the ceiling, and will put off an equal amount of light. It is important to test the amount of light put off by any fluorescent light you are planning to purchase in advance. You don’t want to end up with too much or too little light after it is installed.
